Nickson Kirimi, a finalist at Moi University School of Dentistry, had the honour of being accepted into the Global Oral Health Program Class of 2026 under the Alliance for Oral Health Across Borders (AOHAB). This nine-month programme employs webinars, office hours, mentorship sessions and focused discussions from established leaders globally, to impart a deeper understanding of leadership, advocacy and research in oral health.
Nickson was also privileged to attend the annual One Voice Conference 2026, hosted by the American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry (AADMD) in Southlake, Dallas, Texas, USA from 4–7 June 2026. The conference offers insightful approaches to addressing oral health disparities in underserved populations around the world, providing an avenue for poster presentations, mentorship opportunities, educational sessions and leadership development activities.
He also had the opportunity to visit the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston, Texas, owing to his participation in the school’s Global Elective Program as a student mentor. The visit provided a chance to engage with faculty and students and to explore potential areas of collaboration in teaching, research and community service between Moi University School of Dentistry and the University of Texas School of Dentistry.
