KDA was represented by the Secretary-General, Dr. Douglas Oramis who attended the KHF/IFC sponsored AMEF (African Medical Equipment Facility) Sensitization Forum at the Movenpick Hotel on 1st of December, 2022. The forum was meant to inform and familiarize participants with the workings of the relatively new product that is a bridge between financing institution, Original Equipment Manufacturers and healthcare organizations and facility. It enables hospitals, clinics, pathology labs and diagnostic imaging centres to acquire the advanced equipment that can improve the quality and reliability of care provided. It is meant to address the difficulties small and medium-sized companies have when trying to access financing and leasing equipment. One of the key takeaways was the need to sensitize members of professional associations such as KDA on this product from the World Bank.
